Sweeney, Christopher, Rex & Lawson is one of Ada's newest and most dynamic law firms.

We regularly practice in the following counties: Pontotoc, Coal, Atoka, Johnston, Murray, Garvin, Seminole, Hughes and Pottawatomie as well as Federal Court and the courts of the Chickasaw Nation.

We are located in new offices on Ada's north side at 1320 Stone Bridge, Suite A (next door to the Santa Fe Steakhouse).

Today was Jorjia's last day with our firm. She has accepted a position at East Central University as the Director of Early Settlement Mediation. Our loss is the university's gain. Goodbye, Nicole!

Today we said goodbye and good luck to our receptionist, Nicole. She is off to a new job at East Central University after 5 and half years with our firm. We wish you all the best, Nicole! Thank you for everything!

Welcome Baby!

Our Accounts Manager, Koral and her husband, Kenny welcomed a new angel into their family on November 5, 2015. Their first child, Joe "Grayson" Linker was born at 6:38 PM weighing 8 lbs 10 oz and measuring 22 inches long! Congratulations to everyone in the Linker Family!

Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Filing Fee Increase

We have been notified by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court that Chapter 7 filing fees will increase from $306 to $335 effective June 01, 2014. If you've been thinking about filing bankruptcy, make an appointment today. It will never be cheaper to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy than it is right now!

SD&C partner, Preston Draper, recently had a child support case upheld on appeal by the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals on a matter of first impression. The opinion, In the Interest of the Child of Sara Knight, has been published as 2014 OK CIV APP 2.

Coal County Employee Fired for Wife’s Facebook Posts

SD&C Partner Preston Draper filed a complaint in Federal Court alleging that a Coal County employee was fired after being told “We are not going to pay you to work here when your wife is putting stuff on Facebook about the commissioner.” The complaint alleges the county and the commissioner violated the employee's First Amendment Rights.

Kurt Sweeney files suit on Behalf of Roff Police Chief against City of Roff

The police chief of Roff is suing the City and its current mayor, a city council member and a former city council member for wrongfully terminating his employment in early 2011.
